‘Now, Zone I will hit job aspirants hard’

Erstwhile Nizamaabd and Medak districts to be in the same zone

The districts to be clubbed with erstwhile united Adilabad district to form Zone I under the proposed Zonal system for employment by the State government has made employee unions sit up and take note.

The Telangana Non Gazetted Officers Union is of the opinion that the people from backward Adilabad and Kumram Bheem Asifabad will once again be left out as all the employment will go to those from more developed districts in the group. The districts in the proposed Zone I group are Adilabad, Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal (old Adilabad), Nizamabad, Kamareddy (old Nizamabad), Medak, Siddipet and Sangareddy (old Medak). The last five districts are comparatively better developed economically and educationally and hence job aspirants from these districts stand a better chance of landing with posts earmarked in the backward districts in the group.

“Of the estimated 500 Zonal posts in old Adilabad at least 450 are occupied by employees belonging to Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam districts,” claimed TNGO Adilabad district president S. Ashok as he explained the gamut.

“Now other equally developed districts have replaced the three and will have their candidates in posts to be filled up in the coming years owing to the same kind of disparity in development,” he opined to drive home the point that districts having parity in development need to be clubbed together.

“The new districts to be clubbed with old Adilabad are those which are represented by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao and Nizamabad MP K. Kavitha. They are in a mood to help people in their constituencies by clubbing them with backward districts, they said.
