Notification on second phase of counselling likely today

November 01, 2014 12:40 am | Updated 12:40 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The second phase of engineering counselling will be conducted by the AP State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), which is preparing to release the notification on Saturday, after the Supreme Court, in its revised order, made it clear that the counselling process has to be done by the “concerned authority”.

The APSCHE Chairman, L. Venugopal Reddy, said that the council had informed the Technical Education Commissioners of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to discuss and finalise the dates and modalities. However, the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) is said to have objected to APSCHE’s move. Prof. Venugopal Reddy said that as per the existing norms, APSCHE was the “concerned authority” and it was authorised to issue the notification. The TSCHE officials were not available for comments.
