Nagarjunasagar reservoir attains full level

About 65, 000 cusecs of water was released downstream to the Pulichinthala Multipurpose project.

Irrigation authorities at Nagarjunasagar reservoir lifted eight crest gates up to five feet level in Nalgonda on Monday morning to allow about 65,000 cusecs of water downstream to Pulichinthala Multipurpose project.

The reservoir has attained full reservoir level (FRL) of 590 feet in the early hours of Monday as it has been receiving over one lakh cusecs of water consistently from the upstream Srisailam reservoir during the past few days.

The total outflows at Sagar dam crossed one lakh cusecs as the authorities were also releasing water through power house for power generation, irrigation purposes through left and bank canals.

A large number of people have arrived to watch the spectacle of the river Krishna gushing in full flow.
