TRS district president Eda Shankar Reddy has alleged that BJP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy made allegations against the TRS government only to gain prominence in the media.
Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, he said that Mr. Janardhan Reddy made false allegations against the government. Refuting the allegations, he wanted to know how Mr. Reddy became BJP national executive committee member when he had entered the party recently. He also put forth a question as to why the BJP had fielded Jagga Reddy, a Congress party defector, from the Medak parliamentary constituency.
He claimed that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was the only Chief Minister in the country to introduce several welfare schemes for the benefit of society, including increasing the pension amount. Stating that the distribution of pensions under ‘Asara’ scheme was a continuous process, he said that they had so far distributed pensions to 3.41 lakh people in Karimnagar district and added that they had received applications from 5.46 lakh persons. Flaying the BJP leader for his statement on Karimnagar town, Mayor S. Ravinder Singh said the survey work for the development of Brindavan gardens on the shores of LMD reservoir was in progress.
