In what could be termed as a tragic incident, two kids drowned in Godavari river near Chennur town in Adilabad district on Sunday. The children had jumped into the river after their father, who entered the water to save another kid, a member of the devotee group which had gone to the river in connection with Kartika masam celebrations.
Group of devoteesAccording to police, Perla Rama Rao and his sons Sai Krishna, aged 11 years and studying in class V and Sai Harish, aged 6 years and studying in LKG formed part of the group of devotees. Though Rama Rao rescued the son of his landlord, he lost his own children in the incident.
