The Congress party deputy floor leader in the State Legislative Council Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy has demanded a judicial probe intothe complaints of large-scale irregularities in the much-touted purification of land records and sanction of pattadar passbooks under the Rythu Bandhu scheme in the State.

Talking to reporters here on Sunday, Mr. Reddy said the suspension of several Revenue employees in Nalgonda and elsewhere in the State on charges of resorting to irregularities in sanction of pattadar passbooks was a pointer to the glaring discrepancies in implementation of the investment support scheme.

Thousands of eligible farmers, who actually till the lands had been kept out of the ambit of the investment support scheme, he said, demanding that the allegations of fraudulent claims by some influential persons over government lands including Bhoodan, Endowments and Forest lands be probed thoroughly.

Helpline for farmers

He sought setting up of toll-free helpline centres at the State, district and mandal level to resolve the grievances of aggrieved farmers related to implementation of the Rythu Bandhu scheme.

He alleged that the rampant group rivalry between the ruling TRS corporators was taking a toll on development activities under the Khammam Municipal Corporation limits.
