February 10, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:54 am IST - Hyderabad:

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is placed second to IPS officer P. Vijayan in the race for the CNN-IBN ‘Indian of the Year’ award. The channel had this year introduced a first-of-its-kind voting mechanism via facebook hashtags, wherein people can vote for their favourite nominee, across categories.

While KCR was leading up till last week, this week votes for P. Vijayan have gone up.

Both candidates have left behind the likes of Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Amit Shah, Chetan Bhagat and Sania Mirza in the race for this prestigious award which salutes iconic Indians who have made a significant contribution to India in the past year.
