Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari accompanied by district officials visited the proposed textile park site at Geesukonda on the city outskirts to review the arrangements being made for the ensuing visit of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on October 22.

On Tuesday, Mr. Srihari, City Police Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu, District Collector P.J. Patil and others inspected the venue. A public meeting would be held in the afternoon of October 22 which would be addressed by the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister would visit Warangal to lay foundation stone for the Outer Ring Road (ORR), road over bridge near Fathimanagar in Kazipet and Kakatiya Textile Park at Geesukonda.

Mr. Srihari released a poster of the event featuring how the proposed textile park would benefit the people. Speaking on the occasion, he said the textile park was expected to change the face of the district as it would trigger development and providing over one lakh jobs to people. The only textile mill, Azam Jahi Mill, that was providing employment to a large number of people, was closed down two decades ago. With a view to create jobs and also benefit from the cotton production in the region, the Chief Minister had promised to set up an integrated textile mill in Warangal district during his visit, he said.

The mill, coming up on about 2,000 acres, would provide the necessary infrastructure for investors to set up their units. The State government plans to spend ₹1,600 crore to build the infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the TRS leaders have been holding constituency-wise meetings with party cadre to mobilise people for the public meeting at the textile park site.
