Javadekar to visit Jodeghat

Union Minister of Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar will visit Jodeghat in Adilabad district on Saturday to pay respects to Gond martyr Kumaram Bheem as part of ‘ 70 Saal Azadi, remembering Kumram Bheem’ . He will meet the family of the martyr and felicitate his grandson, Sone Rao. Mr. Javadekar will arrive in a helicopter from Hyderabad at noon and spend about two hours in the village. He will also visit the upcoming memorial for the martyr.

This Independence Day, the Central government will recognise the sacrifices made by relatively unknown heroes in their struggle for freedom under its programme ‘ 70 Saal Azadi, Zara Yaad Karo Qurbani ’. Kumram Bheem had fought the Nizam of Hyderabad for rights on lands tilled by Adivasis.
