‘Hudhud losses yet to be established’

The quantum of losses suffered in various sectors due to Hudhud cyclone was yet to be established, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said here on Sunday. Talking to reporters after his return from the cyclone-battered Visakhapatnam city after a week-long stay there, the Chief Minister said the losses were huge as there was widespread damage in every sector.

He said various crops, including paddy, were damaged in lakhs of acres.

Infrastructure, many private buildings, industries, port trust and airport suffered losses. As many as 37 lakh poultry birds perished. He said 30,000 electricity poles were uprooted.
