Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday tabled a statement in the Assembly informing industrialists, workers, employees and public that the government was committed to maintenance of law and order in Hyderabad.
In the backdrop of the recent attack on Aurobindo Pharma vice-president K. Nityananda Reddy, Mr. Rao assured the House that the government would take steps to thoroughly investigate the incident and ensure punishment to the assailant, Obulesu. He complimented the police for achieving breakthrough in the probe in a record time and also for arresting Obulesu.
Noting the crucial contribution of closed circuit TV cameras to the investigation in this case, Mr. Rao said an international standard command and control system would be set up in Hyderabad to analyse the inputs gathered from the cameras. A building with all facilities would be constructed for the purpose at a cost of Rs. 150 crore. The foundation stone for the building would be laid shortly.
He appealed to public to participate in the expansion programme of the government for CCTV cameras as per the Public Security Act. The government would make adequate budgetary provision to install the cameras all over Hyderabad.
