IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao has urged voters of Palair Assembly constituency to ensure a landslide victory for TRS and make Congress bite the dust in the forthcoming by-election. “Congress should be wiped out from the State and the country as a whole for thrusting decades-long misrule on people in the past,” he said, alleging that the TDP and YSRC’s decision to support Congress in the ensuing Palair bypoll exposed their “political bankruptcy”. Speaking at a meeting held on the occasion of filing of nomination papers by party candidate and Minister for Roads & Buildings T. Nageswara Rao here on Friday, Mr. Rao slammed both the Congress and TDP for joining hands in Palair bypoll out of sheer “political opportunism”. The TDP’s move amounted to diluting the ideals of late N.T. Rama Rao, who formed the party in 1982 with the sole objective of ousting the Congress, he alleged. Launching a scathing attack against Congress MP from Nalgonda, Gutta Sukhender Reddy, Mr. Rao alleged that Mr. Reddy had written letters to the NABARD and HUDCO as part of a “misinformation campaign” to block sanction of loans to Mission Bhageeratha.
