A two-year-old girl is feared drowned after slipping into a drain at Chandanagar on Sunday evening. The victim, Sri Mahalaxmi, along with her mother Sunita and brother had gone to Rajiv Gruhakalpa Colony in Chandanagar to find a rented accommodation. The girl was following her mother when she slipped into an open drain. On noticing it, Sunita called for help. Locals, who gathered there immediately, informed the police. A team of officials from Fire Services Department and GHMC rushed to the spot and employed water pumps to drain out the water. Rescue efforts are on when the last reports came in.
