Free treatment for swine flu, promises Harish Rao

Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao said medicine and treatment would be extended free of cost for those affected by swine flu.

Mr. Harish Rao said the adverse impact of swine flu would be over in the next 10 days as temperatures were expected to increase. He was addressing a gathering after formally inaugurating a high-risk assistance centre at Mother and Child Care Centre at Siddipet on Friday.

The Minister sought to assure the people that they need not worry about the disease, the Minister said a special ward was already in place at government hospital to treat swine flu patients. They would be shifted to Hyderabad by arranging for an ambulance if necessary, he added. He suggested that the people approach government hospitals if they suspect themselves of having contracted swine flu.

Meanwhile, Collector Rahul Bojja has instructed all panchayat officials to clean water tanks thrice a month, arrest the leakage of tanks, fill pits at the water collecting point and clean water with bleaching powder.
