Four killed, one injured as car rams into tanker

Three of the deceased are from Andhra Pradesh

Four people were killed and one was injured when a car rammed into a moving gas tanker from the rear at Pajakallahalli Gate near Narasapur on National Highway 75 in the wee hours of Monday.

Three of the deceased and the injured person are from Andhra Pradesh. The fourth deceased was from Bengaluru. They were travelling to Bengaluru, Vemagal Sub-Inspector Nataraj M.R. said.

The car (AP 9 BL 9888) was mangled due to the impact.

Police suspect negligence and drowsiness of the driver as the cause for the accident.

The police gave the names of the deceased as Srinath Reddy, Amarendra Babu and Chandrashekhar Karnati from Andhra Pradesh and Venkata Narendra from K.G. Halli in Bengaluru. Bharath Reddy was admitted to R.L. Jalappa Hospital. He is in coma.
