Retired civil servant and media advisor to former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao, P. V. R. K. Prasad, passed away this morning. He was 77.

He died due to a cardiac arrest while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad. He is survived by his wife, daughter and son.

An IAS officer of the United AP cadre, Mr. Prasad held several important posts, including the Executive Officer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam. It was during his tenure when several reforms were introduced in the TTD.

He was the author of several books.
