Disenchantment over sidelining of loyal TRS cadres

March 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:59 am IST - ADILABAD:

The issue of late entrants gaining importance in the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) was raised on Sunday at the meeting of the ruling party’s district unit in Adilabad, albeit in muted tones.

The discontent among partymen owing to sidelining of the old cadres despite their prominent role in separate Telangana agitation was visible at the meeting.

Housing and Endowment Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy and BC Welfare and Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna appealed to party workers not to let the phenomenon interfere in ensuing party elections.

They said the cadres should ensure unanimous election to village, mandal and associated committees in the coming days and any dissidence owing to the importance being given to late entrants should be brought to their notice.

Local body polls

The disenchantment of workers on account of loyalty not being rewarded could be seen since elections to local bodies were held after formation of Telangana.

The issue however, did not snowball into a controversy at any point of time since then.
