Curtains on Teej festivities

A traditional procession was taken out under the aegis of the Teej festival committee here on Monday marking the culmination of the nine-day Teej festivities.

Scores of Lambada women, including girls, took part in the religious procession amid recital of songs in praise of Goddess Parvati.

The festivities concluded with the immersion of wheat seedlings grown in bamboo baskets in Munneru rivulet by Lambada women later.

Earlier, an impressive ceremony was organised in connection with Teej festival at the site earmarked for Banjara Bhavan in NSP Camp Colony here. The festival committee convener Guguloth Dharma and others took part in the celebrations.
