Couple arrested in chit fund scam

A couple was arrested in connection with a chit fund scam in Nalgonda on Wednesday.

Speaking to mediapersons, CCS, DSP, V. Sunitha Mohan said that Pothuraju Narasimha and Pola Neela Kumari floated Sairam chit fund company at Prakasham Bazaar few months ago. They have motivated their customers to invest the money in the company in addition to monthly chit payments. By creating fake registration certificates and payment slips, the accused showed that the interest amount on customers investment is being paid towards their monthly chit payments. One day they had disappeared with the money. Ms. Neela Kumari and her husband, Anand Reddy, an advocate by profession were nabbed. Anand Reddy was accused of supporting his wife and her business partner Narasimha, who is at large. The duo was produced before media. The Police have seized documents of immovable property of Neela Kumari. CCS, Inspector, M.G.S.Ramakrishna, one-town Inspector, T. Srinivas and others were present.
