Council polls: Left leaders to tour Warangal today, tomorrow

March 17, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:51 am IST - WARANGAL:

The leaders of ten Left parties would undertake a two-day bus yatra in the district on Tuesday and Wednesday, campaigning in support of S. Prabhakar Reddy in ensuing MLC elections.

CPI district secretary T. Srinivasa Rao, CPI (M) district secretary S. Vasudeva Reddy and leaders of Forward Bloc, RSP, CPI (ML) New Democracy and others said the graduates should think before casting their vote. Mr. Prabhakar Reddy has been rendering his services for the cause of poor as an advocate and human rights activist for long.

Flays BJP, TDP

CPI (M) leader Vasudeva Reddy said TRS and BJP failed to deliver the promises. People had great expectations from these parties, but within three months they proved themselves as anti-people and anti-democratic.

“The Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari is threatening the managements of colleges with severe consequences if the TRS candidate fails to win. He and his party leaders were misusing the power,” he alleged.

TRS and BJP have come to people once again seeking votes and the graduates should question them on decisions such as land acquisition bill at Centre and anti-people budget of State.

The CPI (M) leader accused the ruling TRS party of trying to lure voters with money.

“The Left parties came up with a slogan ‘Defeat Money’, ‘Repeat Delh’ asking people to reject both TRS and BJP in the council elections here,” he said.

On Tuesday, leaders - Tammineni Veerabhadram of CPI, Chada Venkat Reddy of CPI (M) and others would tour Mahabubabad, Narasampet, Mulugu, Bhupalpalli and Warangal mandals, and on Wednesday, they would address meetings at Hanamkonda, Station Ghanpur and Jangaon mandals.
