Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao would launch the sheep distribution programme, one of the flagship programmes of the State government, on June 20th at Kondapaka mandal headquarters in Gajwel, the constituency represented by Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao.

All arrangements are being put in place for this purpose. As many as 825 beneficiaries from the mandal were identified and they will be handed over the sheep units by the Chief Minister.

While each sheep unit costs about ₹1.25 lakh the beneficiary share works out to ₹31,750 and the subsidy being offered by the government will be ₹91,250. Out of this ₹1,10,000 will be paid for sheep purchasing and the remaining amount will be paid for transportation and other requirements.

Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao, Lok Sabha member K. Prabhakar Reddy and Collector P. Venkataram Reddy visited the proposed helipad site at Kondapaka on Sunday and supervised the arrangements. Mr. Venkataram Reddy said that sheep units were ready to be transported from Kurnool.
