Change in Telangana logo

June 26, 2014 10:00 pm | Updated May 24, 2016 04:25 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The Telangana government has approved a minor change in the government logo bringing the words ‘Satyameva Jayate’ in Hindi just below the national emblem - the Lion Capital.

The placement of ‘Satyameva Jayate’ below the green-coloured circular logo kicked off a minor controversy with many pointing out that the words “Satyameva Jayate” and the Lion Capital should not be separated. Following these objections, the government is believed to have asked for making the change.

Noted artist Laxman Aeley, who designed the Telangana State logo, made the necessary changes and submitted the amended one to the Chief Minister’s office.

The government logo has a decorated Kakatiya arch in the circular emblem in green colour with the Charminar image at the centre. Government of Telangana in English, Telangana Sarkar in Urdu and Telangana Prabhutuvam in Telugu is written in the circular logo.
