Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari urged Infosys Foundation chairperson Sudha Murthy to bring Akshaya Patra Foundation’s kitchen to Warangal.
Addressing a gathering after inaugurating a mega kitchen, built at a cost of ₹18.5 crore, at Kandi on Friday, he said he would submit a project report for similar kitchen to Ms. Sudha Murthy and her husband Narayana Murthy. Besides Ms. Murthy, the event was attended by Chanchaalpathi Dasa, vice-chairman, Akhaya Patra Foundation, and Satya Guru Chandra Dasa, president, Akshaya Patra Foundation, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
“Infosys Foundation has been extending services to society for many years. I wish others would follow suit. I bow down to Ms. Murthy for feeding lakhs of students in government schools,” said Mr. Srihari, adding that the government has been spending ₹1 lakh on each student.
Ms. Murty urged everyone to help in keeping the kitchen in good health. Mr. Dasa explained how they began distributing food to a few students at Lord Krishna temple in Bengaluru that has now spread to other regions.
