Several thousand devotees participated in the Bonalu procession taken out by the shivaparvathulu , the brides of Lord Shiva, after the annual Sri Ramanavami celebrations at the Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Devasthanam at Vemulawada on Sunday.

Devotees who performed ceremonial marriages with the Lord on the occasion of Sri Ramanavami celebrations, participated in Bonalu celebrations with much pomp and gaiety. Colourfully decorated bonalu with neem leaves and lamps were taken out in a procession and offered to the Baddi Pochamma Temple.

Transgenders also took out bonalu procession separately amid drum beats. They decorated the bonalu with idols of goddess Durga and offered it to the temple.
