May 03, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:50 am IST - NIZAMABAD:

The BJP membership in the district increased six-fold taking it to 1.30 lakh from 21,000. There was a tremendous response to the party membership drive which came to an end on Saturday, according to BJP district president Palle Ganga Reddy.

Out of the total members, 47,000 had taken book membership, while the remaining joined online. “Though is a small district, the response is overwhelming compared to other districts. This indicates the influence of Prime Minister Modi and the party among people,” he told to reporters here on Saturday.

Mr. Ganga Reddy said that in response to the call given by the party’s national president Amit Shah, the party cadre under the ‘Maha Sampark Abhiyan’ would interact with people on various schemes and programmes introduced by the Centre from May 10.
