Marking the beginning of eight-day annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Parvathi Jedala Ramalingeshwara Swamy temple, Cheruvugattu, the presiding deity was taken on procession on Nalgonda streets as part of Nagarothsavam here on Saturday. Cheruvugattu is considered most famous temple after Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, Yadagirigutta, in the district.
The temple receives about four lakh devotees during the eight-day annual fete.

A huge number of people took part in Nagarothsavam this evening.
Temple Executive Officer Gutha Manohar Reddy said on the second day Gavyantha Puja and Mula Mantha Japam would be performed at the shrine on Sunday.
He added that Swamivari Kalyanam on Monday, Teppothsavam on January 27 and Agnigundalu (walking on fire) on the last day will attract more devotees.
He said that they all arrangements were in place in coordination with the district administration. Special services were being operated from Narketpally and Nalgonda, while the police deployed sufficient force to control the crowd.
