‘Accused in murder of three children made vain bid to kill himself’

Chamidala Ramesh, who is accused of killing his three children, attempted suicide at least twice after the incident, before his father Ramulu knocked on the doors Monday morning. The Police arrested and produced him before a local court which remanded him. Speaking to The Hindu , Sub-inspector of Police, S. Manjunatha Reddy, said that the visit to the crime scene and primary inquiry revealed that the accused Ramesh had attempted suicide by hanging and giving electric shock during. He tried to hang himself with a sari, but withdrew it in last minute in a state dilemma.

In his second attempt, Ramesh touched a live electric wire, but the fuse was disconnected within seconds when his father knocked the door. After opening the door, Ramesh fled from the scene without saying anything to his father. Ramulu found his three grandchildren, Nirosha, Rakishtha and Jaswanth dead in their bed.
