Tension following murder of rowdy sheeter

Tension prevailed in town on Sunday following the murder of a rowdy sheeter and his associate late on Saturday night. Heavy police presence failed to deter the relatives of the dead persons going on the rampage.

One N. Srinu and his associate Krishna were killed at TDP Colony in Kamalapur in Mangapet mandal late on Saturday night by B. Raju, uncle of a woman Srinu was reported to be having an extra marital relationship.

According to information reaching here, B. Raju had warned Srinu against continuing his relationship with his niece and had also got a case registered against him.

Srinu who developed a grudge against Raju had been waiting for an opportunity to beat him up. On Saturday night he along with his associate Krishna went to Raju. Meanwhile, Raju, who was waiting for an opportunity to thrash Srinu, attacked him with his seven other friends.

They tied both Srinu and Krishna and then smashed their heads.

Later they went to Mangapet police station and surrendered.

Enraged relatives of Srinu went on a rampage at Raju’s house and damaged all the property before setting the house afire.

A police picket was set up in the town and dead bodies were shifted to Eturunagaram government hospital.
