68th NCC Day celebrated

The 68th NCC Day was celebrated by the 12th Telangana NCC Group comprising old Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Adilabad and Medak districts here on Sunday.

Group Commander Col. N.A. Pradeep inaugurated the celebrations and Commanding Officers Col. Jyothi Dawan (12th Telangana battalion, Nizamabad), Col. Ravichandra (32 battalion, Adilabad) and Col. Arun Deshpande, (9th battalion, Karimnagar) attended the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Col. Pradeep said the organisation came into existence a few months after the Independence with the enactment of the National Cadets Corps Act. Since then, the NCC has made the country proud.

The 12th Telangana NCC Group headquartered here has over 12,000 cadets and has been active ever since its establishment, he said.

He later gave away prizes and mementos to the cadets who participated in the Republic Day and Thal Sena parades in New Delhi this year.

The National Cadet Corps cadets, officers and associate NCC officers were also present.
