The State Government has decided to appoint 11,428 Vidya Volunteers in all the 31 districts of Telangana through school management committees from the next academic year (2017-18) with an allowance of ₹ 12,000 per month.
Earlier, the salary was ₹ 8,000 per month. The Vidya Volunteers would be engaged from June 12 to the last working day of the academic year.
According to proceedings of the Director of School Education on Saturday, the district collectors and district educational officers would engage the Vidya Volunteers in the schools. The appointments are temporary and they can be terminated from service at any time based on justifiable grounds by the school management committee.
The volunteers would be engaged for regular functioning of the school. The DEOs shall allot roster points first to the mandal by arranging mandal names in English alphabetical order. Later, the Mandal Educational Officer would arrange habitations in English alphabetical order. The selection process and verification of volunteers will be completed before June 9.
