Back to targeting Congress, Anna Hazare and his close aide Arvind Kejriwal on Monday asked the party to come out clean on its election funding and the money it spent on “helicopters and rallies”.
Asking Congress to make public its expenses on its website, Mr. Kejriwal said senior party leader Digvijay Singh had repeatedly asked Team Anna to make public the money they collected and then spent on the Lokpal protest.
“We gave all details on our website, the list of donors, expenses etc. So, we want to know from Digvijay Singh, all Congress leaders including Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, how much did they spend on helicopters and rallies.
“They should make their expenses public and put it on their websites,” Mr. Kejriwal said.
Mr. Hazare supported Mr. Kejriwal’s view and said he found nothing wrong in his close aide’s remarks. “Expenses must be made public. If it is not your personal money, the details should be made public,” he said.
Reacting to the remarks, Mr. Singh said Congress will “declare the expenses to the Election Commission and not to Arvind Kejriwal.”
Mr. Kejriwal said one has witnessed that almost all leaders of various parties were travelling in helicopters.
“There were big rallies being held and a lot of expenditure happened. Where did all this money come from? Whose money is it? How much money was spent? People have the right to know,” he said.

Team Anna targeting Congress is very much natural. First they are ruling party and second we know that what all have been done by Congress leader to defame and tame Team Anna. Even a small mistake by any member of Team Anna was featured as national shame/crisis by this Congress Leaders. But a similar demand from this team should come for all other parties as well.
Dear friends, I have gone through many comments given in favor and against the team Anna. To my understanding, the Team Anna should not be taken as against the Congress Party. In fact Team Anna is against all the corrupt parties, but presently the Congress being the ruling party is accountable for all kind of misdeeds. For me it surprising, when I find the people fanatic for the parties. If we see all the politica parties, most having corrupt politicians. Its very annoying to see the worshipers of the parties. This country needs a different approach to change the face of the country, I am sure it can not be achieved through the existing political parties. Team Anna should introduced a new 'Party - with clean image people'. There are many bureaucrats, corporates and scholars from all the fields.
Lot of people are asking why Kejriwal is targeting congress only. I think he
mentions that all party leaders were traveling in helicopters during the elections ,
so it is implied that he is asking the question to all parties.
However , he mentions congress explicitly because it was congress party leaders
especially Digvijay Singh were asking team Anna in an insulting way to post their
expenses on their website. Hence, it's only natural for Arvind Kejriwal to retaliate
and ask for the same to congress party. Congress party was out there defaming
Anna and his team. Now, it's time they should come clean with their expenses.
People of this country have a right to know where do parties and congress party in
particular (being the largest spender) gets it election money from. We have a right
to know which corporation and nation(s) they are actually serving.
Actually after the IAC rallies Congress asked about the funding from
Team Anna and they came out showing full account of their spending neat
& clean. Now Team Anna is asking Congress as a strong reply. "Anna tum
sangharsh karo hum tumhaare saath hain"
It is the beginning of the end of congress. People are tired of corruption and dynasty...
Has the so-called Team Anna run out of issues?
The crux lies with election reforms after having discussions with political parties alongwith
social groups, ex election commissioners and experiences of other old democracies of the
world.Indian democracy is passing through a transitional phase from feudalism to democratic
value concept.
Congress is right now governing this country and must take the lead in this. I am sure once
they come clear they themselves will ask others to follow suit. So Mr. Kejriwal has done the
smart thing by putting this to the congress first. Well done sir. And on part of the congress
rather than sulking that Team Anna is targeting them (obviously untrue) it would be wise if
they come over with the facts.
Lot of fuss has been created about why only congress. Team anna does not have unlimited resources, manpower and money like political parties. Whatever they do must get converted to some output. If they start spending their energy on other parties like BJP, BSP and even nab them, does these have any power to change things no they don't. Congress is at the helm of govt. in my view they are at the root of the tree. ANy hit there will generate output not cutting the branches. Congress are talking of respect of parliament , these cowards , first passed the resolution then u-turned. Utterly shameless. India has got a unique opportunity to change its future. But i think people feel comfortable supporting these illiterate people rather than an honest patriot like Anna.

Team Anna is losing its credibility by targeting only the Congress Party. While it takes care to make a few noises about other parties it is apparent that this is just for public consumption. Team Anna's silence on the goings on in Karnataka make it evident as to where its sympathies lie.
I think the two separate issues raised by team Anna shouldn't be
intermingled. The team Anna do not have any vendetta against congress
or any other party. To a great extent,their demands are just & right.It
is the moral duty of every party to divulge their expenditure on
Elections publicly. But most of the people see all the agendas raised
by team Anna with same specs.Same as the idiom-a jaundice eye always
sees yellow.Whether you call it merit or demerit,it happen in
democracy that every just demand too get an opposition.
I support Sh.Anna hazare.
I think anna hazare shouldnot point out only congress,but also the rest of the parties too,for making such expenses.
I believe targeting Congress or the RULING PARTY is the first and foremost. It's they who run the Government and they should be leading in the front by showing others that they are within norms. And that is exactly why Anna Hazare is targeting them.
Why are they curious only about congress leaders? Team Anna are turning out to be more and more biased and have no shame in blantantly targetting only one party when every other person in this country is corrupt in one way or the other.
When the pillars of democracy judiciary, law enforcement and media
recently were involved in a tug-of-war in Bangalore one looked toward
team Anna for what they got to say on the predicament. Now they have
come out and asked how much Congress (why only Congress?) spent on the
election campaigning. Good job, Team Anna.

There are very few "Honest" people in the country who stand up against
the wrong doing and the culture of corruption. Those who do not stand up
against the wrong doings, they are either beneficiaries of corruption or them-self engaged in the culture of corruption. Mr. Arvind Kejriwal is
totally right to raise the serious questions which every honest
man/woman should ask and want to answered by his/her constituent.
Congress is the ruling party and BJP supports publishing details about all the blackmoney holders(doesn't mean that BJP is pure). Congress ruled this country for decades, yet nothing(corruption, all the evil things, etc..) changed. Atleast, then PM Vajpayee approved Lokpal when he was in power.
Congress party considers itself as a super being from other planet to
rule the natives of India. Its leaders, right from Independence,
considered themselves to be superior to all other leaders from south,
east and west. For their arrogance, they were humbled by Mr.C.N.
Annadurai in 1967 and still they wistfully are looking at St.George
Fort from a light year away. There are some media, intellectuals who
always support this party, God only knows for what reasons. They are
superior to the people, above law and judiciary, their motives and
actions are beyond question. They will never submit their true
accounts because they are masters and we are slaves. Pity is even
highly educated from very respectable foreign university persons are
acting as shield to this party.
why doesn't anna come clean with his sources that funded his 'huge'
rallies and podiums and media publicity and etc etc?
i feel that Team Anna is has been moving swiftly form Lokpal issue to
its new agenda "Target Congress"
Team Anna just be consistent in the demand of "People's Right" not the
other issue.
Unless the EC has been given enough powers to enforce the verification of accounts, the certification by the concerned Returning officers and independent auditors within a time frame and recommend Right to Recall the concerned candidates, mere submission of account of funding will be of no use.
Sad to see that Team Anna is loosing complete credibility (of what
ever is left) by targeting only Congress party.
India paid Rs 792 thousand crore Rs. of tax to this government. Now politicians are making budgets to feast upon common man's money. New money eating yojnas will come out. New techniques to tax common man. All Government departments will demand tax payer's money to run - none of them ever worked in profit. Welcome to nation of wisdom ruled by ultra-corrupt goons.
By selectively targeting congress, they are losing their own supporters.
The Congress party since the days of NehruJi has never considered itself subject to the laws or mores applicable to others. Today's DigvijayJi SinghJi, SalmanJi KhrusheedJi, BeniJi PrasadJi VermaJi,Tiru.Da.ChidamabaramJi, PranabDa MukherjeeJi, SoniaJi GandhiJi, and RahulJi GandhiJi will surely find ways to circumvent this most legitimate demand.
Why selective targeting of Congress only? Why not BJP, BSP, SP too ?
