Engineering students should develop a multi-disciplinary approach to achieve proficiency, said Dr. U. Chandrasekar, Additional Director, Science and Gas Turbine Research Establishment, Bangalore, here on Friday.

Inaugurating a two-day workshop on “Trends and Development in Aeronautics and Avionics'' at Adhyamaan College of Engineering in Hosur.

Dr. Chandrasekar pledged his whole-hearted support, including funding for designing an aircraft and establishing an Aero-Model Club at the college.

He promised that he could arrange lectures of eminent persons in all disciplines of engineering at the college.

He said that NASA was working on a Hypersonic Technology Demonstration Vehicle, the speed of which is 9,000 to 10,000 km/h. If it were to becomes reality one can travel from one part of the world to another in two hours.
