Under the aegis of Clean Green Erode Mission, a social movement initiated by Olirum Erodu Foundation, in association with the Confederation of Indian Industry, Young Indians, Round Tables of Erodu City, and ProChamps, International Women’s Day will be celebrated at Tex Valley on March 8.
The organisers have invited parents to vote for choosing the winners of the drawing competition the Foundation had conducted earlier for school students espousing the role of the future generation and their parents in keeping the environment - house, locality, workplace and public places - clean.
About 20,000 students from classes V to IX and 1,500 teachers from 35 schools were involved in various competitions. The drawings, creative writings and other exhibits will be displayed at Texvalley, Gangapuram, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
According to a press release, several games and activities emphasising on clean green drive, health check up for women, health tips for women, and retail shopping experience at wholesale prices will constitute the International Women’s Day celebration. About 1,000 socially active school teachers will be recognised on the occasion. Further information about the celebration will be provided over phone: 9842516222 / 9865916222, the release said.
