A woman allegedly poisoned her two children one of whom died, before committing suicide, also by consuming poison, near Thandarampattu on Monday night.
Sarawathi and Ramesh of Amarnthaputhur village near Thandarampattu got married before five years and they had two girl children, Kausalya (2) and Sri. Sri has been admitted to Government Tiruvannamalai Medical College Hospital.
According to police Saraswathi resorted to the extreme step as her husband allegedly suspected her fidelity.
Based on the complaint from Saraswathi’s mother a case has been registered with Thandarampattu police station.
Revenue Divisional Officer would carry out an inquiry into the death.
