Withdraw permission: Vaiko

‘Karnataka and Kerala repeatedly violating SC directions in the river water sharing disputes’

September 04, 2016 02:37 am | Updated September 22, 2016 05:00 pm IST - TIRUNELVELI:

The Centre should not give permission to Kerala for constructing a gravity dam across the Siruvani as the view of Tamil Nadu has not been sought, MDMK general secretary Vaiko said. “Since the construction of a dam by Kerala across Siruvani will seriously affect Coimbatore, Erode and Tirupur districts, permission accorded by the Expert Appraisal Committee for River Valley and Hydroelectric Projects will provide firm foundation for serious problems that will irreparably strain the relations between the two States,” Mr. Vaiko told reporters here on Saturday.
