Cooptex offers a wide range of silk saris, including those with stone work and embroidery, this festive season. For cotton lovers, organic cotton saris in various colours are in the offing.

Cooptex launched its Deepavali sales last week. Silk saris with stone work and soft silk varieties are among the most popular with customers. A rebate of 30 per cent is in the offing on silk and handloom varieties.

Officials say the silk saris with stone work are available up to Rs. 20,000 (label price), while soft silk saris are in the range of Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 9,000.

Under its scheme “Anaivarukkum Pattu,” which aims at making silk saris affordable for all, Cooptex is offering saris at low prices at Rs. 3,500. This includes saris with stone work too. One of the new arrivals is – “Paalum Pazhamum” saris with checked patterns in four colour- combinations.

Embroidery designs on pure silk saris come as a delight to customers. Priced at Rs. 4,000, these saris are also fast moving, officials add. Other varieties in the offing include “Kora” silk saris priced from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 6,000.

“These saris are grand yet light in weight. So, people who consider silk saris as being heavy and find it difficult to wear around, buy “Kora” silk saris as it fulfils their requirements,” says a salesperson.

In fact, Cooptex is also offering silk readymade shirts for men at a label price of Rs. 1,800. This is a new arrival for the festive season.

For those who prefer cotton, organic cotton saris priced above Rs. 2,000 can be the best pick this season. “This comes in many colours. It is organic as only natural dye is used,” says an official.

New varieties of kurtas for women priced from Rs. 500 to Rs. 700 are also on sale.

There are 18 showrooms in Cooptex’s Vellore region comprising Kancheepuram, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Chittoor and Tiruvallur. A sales target of Rs. 15.50 crore has been fixed for this year’s Deepavali for the 18 showrooms. Deepam Cooptex showroom at Sarathi Maaligai has been given a sales target of Rs. 3.33 crore. Cooptex is selling its products through Flipkart too.
