An art exhibition to promote water conservation was organised under the aegis of Eera Nilam, a Cuddalore-based non-Governmental organisation, at the Government Arts College here on Tuesday.

Interactions

Principal in-charge Malliga, who inaugurated the exhibition, observed that often such initiatives were more effective in protecting the environment than classroom interactions.

Awareness

Exhibition organiser Thamizharasan said that it featured about 50 paintings and added that the objective was to enhance awareness about the growing pressure on natural resources particularly water.

Coordinator of the Government Arts College Eco-Club H.Mohanakrishnan, Bharathiar University Syndicate Member D.Jayabalan and Eco Club co-coordinator B.Ramakrishnan also spoke.
