Two persons were killed and four suffered injuries when earth caved in while desilting a farm well in Samakollabeyil village near Palacode on Sunday.
A group of workers were desilting the farm well belonging to Krishnan, a farmer, when the incident took place.
A worker Selvam was killed on the spot.
Krishnan and four other workers suffered injuries and were rushed to the Government Hospital, Palacode, where Krishnan was declared brought dead. The other four are undergoing treatment.
Mahendramangalam police have registered a case and are investigating.
