Two girls rescued

Two eight-year-old school girls, who were missing in Dindigul, were rescued at Palani Railway station in less than five hours here on Tuesday.

The police said that the rescued were Vidya Sri and Gopika studying in third standard in a private matriculation school near Round Road in the town.

They did not return home after school hours this evening.

Acting on information, the Palani police brought them to the town police station from Palani railway station.

After enquiry, the children told that they came to Palani to go to their grandparents’ house in the temple town.

They came to Palani in Tiruchendur-Pollachi passenger train that reached Palani railway station around 7 p.m., they added.
