Two cars parked near temple in Colachel damaged in fire

Two cars parked near a temple in Colachel were damaged partially in a fire on Friday night creating panic in the area. Suresh, a BJP activist, trade unionist and industrialist and his neighbour Magesh parked their cars near the temple.

The cars caught fire suddenly at about 3 a.m. on Saturday. Neighbours informed the owners of the cars and doused the fire, but before that the front portion of the car was damaged in fire.

Based on complaints, Colachel police rushed to the spot. Sniffer dog was pressed into service. The dog ran up to the Anna statue and returned. Colachel police have registered a case.
