Two arrested for possession of explosives

Two persons were arrested for possession of explosives for manufacture of fireworks here in the two districts.

In the first case, Uthangarai police in Krishnagiri arrested Taj Mohammad (67) for possession of explosives used in the production of fireworks. The man had no permit for manufacture of fireworks.

In another incident, Dharmapuri police arrested S.Ramesh, a labourer, who was engaged in the production of crackers for local festivals. The man was working for one Natarajan, the owner of the unit, who has since been absconding.

Natarajan’s permit had lapsed, and was not renewed. Fireworks worth Rs.10,000 was seized.
