Total prohibition demanded

Members of Tamil Nadu Gandhi Mandram appealed to the State government to impose total prohibition by October 2.

While condoling the death of anti-liquor activist Sasi Peruamal, former State vice-president of Congress Minority Wing Abdul Jabbar said that liquor ruined the lives of youths and destroyed several families. Sasi Perumal sacrificed his life while intensifying anti-liquor campaign.

The members decided support August 4 agitation. Earlier, they took part in a silent prayer for Sasi Perumal.
