Total electorate put at about 4.6 crore

The total electorate of the State has been put at about 4.6 crore, according to the final rolls of voters of Assembly constituencies published on Monday.

Of the total figure of voters, men account for 2,30,88,878 and women 2,28,72,085. The number of transgender persons is 868.

On completion of summary revision of the rolls with January 1, 2011 as the qualifying date, about 11.5 lakh voters have been included. Of them, men account for 6,00,620 and women 5,51,046. The figure of transgender persons is 189.

The summary revision took place from October 25 to November 13, 2010, according to a press release issued by Praveen Kumar, Chief Electoral Officer. During the revision, 1.06 lakh names were deleted owing to shifting, death of electors and duplicate entries, he said.
