The Hindu signs pact with Jeppiaar Group

Move to develop English language proficiency of students

The Hindu Group has signed an MoU with Jeppiaar Group of Institutions, Chennai.

The scope of the collaboration is to develop English language proficiency with face-to-face campus training, online training and interaction with STEP from The Hindu Group. It is expected to help Jeppiaar group of Educational Institutions have fruitful outcome in academic, research, engineering and training areas, said a press release.

Jeppiaar group of Educational Institutions managing director M. Regeena Jeppiaar signed the MoU on May 12 with STEP ( The Hindu group) for the benefit of students of the institutions. Pundi Sriram, co-founder of STEP, signed the agreement for STEP.

As part of the terms of the MoU partnership, Jeppiaar Engineering College has agreed to introduce STEP training to all first-year students of undergraduate streams from the academic year of 2017-18.

The training schedule will be a blended learning programme with a few hours dedicated to classroom training and the remaining to online moderated study,.

STEP will conduct a diagnostic test on the college premises, deliver a training programme and depute adequate trainers.

After monitoring and assessing individual student progress and learning behaviours, a course completion test will be conducted and certificates given to all successful candidates.
