Over 20 Sivachariyars performed special pujas at yagasala and to purna kumbham

Thousands of devotees witnessed the mahakumbabhishekams of Sri Ujjaini Mahakaliamman Temple at Kamaraj Nagar and Sri Kodheeswarar Temple in Kodhaimangalam near here Monday.

More than 20 Sivachariyars, led by Nataraja Gurukkal, performed special pujas at yagasala and to purna kumbham at Sri Ujjaini Mahakaliamman Temple.

After the pujas, they brought the kalasams containing the holy water to respective vimanams of the temple.

At an auspicious time, Sivachariyars poured the holy water on the golden kalasams fixed on the temple vimanam and performed mahakumbabhishekam to all sannadhis.

Later, special pujas were performed to the main and other deities in the temple.

Similarly, the mahakumbabhishekam was performed at Sri Kodheeswarar Temple. The main gopuram was renovated and decorated aesthetically for this holy ceremony. Three yagasalas meant for Lord Murugan,

Lord Siva and Lord Ganapathy were set up on the temple campus and four kala pujas performed.

Around 9.45 a.m., the Sivachariyars brought the holy kalasams to the vimanam of all sannadhis and poured the holy water on the kalasams on each gopuram.

Several devotees in and around Kodhaimangalam took part. Officials in Sri Dhandayuthapaniswamy Temple administration had made all the arrangements.

Adi Pooram

Thousands of devotees witnessed the flag-hoisting ceremony to mark the Adi Pooram festival of Sri Soundararaja Perumal Temple at Thadikombu on Monday morning.

The Lord will be taken on veedhi ulas on various mounts during the festival days.
