Teenager attacked; three arrested

Thazhaiyoothu police have arrested three persons for attempting to murder a teenager.

The police said A. Chidambaram (19), a second-year polytechnic student of Kattalai Balganapathipuram near Thazhaiyoothu, was returning home from his college at Tharuvai on Tuesday evening. As he was travelling on the footboard of a bus, he got down whenever the bus halted and got into the bus as the vehicle moved.

When the bus reached Rajavallipuram stop, three persons – A. Subramanian (25) of Rajavallipuram, M. Suresh (25) of Mela Palamadai New Colony and G. Arunkumar (25) of Indira Nagar near Rajavallipuram – pushed him on the ground and attacked him. With injuries, Chidambaram has been admitted to Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital.
