TASMAC staff robbed

Assailants attacked a supervisor working for the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC) and relieved him of Rs. 3.46 lakh near here on Sunday.

Police said that Subramanian (41), a supervisor of outlet at Nallur near Valangaiman, was returning with colleague Palanivelu (35) of Aniyamangalam after collecting the day’s sales revenue from two retail outlets when four unidentified persons assaulted him at Inamkiliyur near Valangaiman.

After felling the two who were riding a motorbike, the assailants snatched a bag containing Rs. 3.46 lakh.

The injured Subramanian was first rushed to the Kumbakonam Government Hospital and then to the Thanjavur Medical College Hospital for treatment.
