Tasmac outlets operators’ plea

April 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - ERODE:

Operators of bars attached to the Tasmac outlets selling IMFL on Monday urged the district administration to consider permitting the outlets to transact till 10.30 p.m. Their charter of demands included reduction in earnest deposits for participation in tender process, regular meetings with Tasmac management, sourcing of empty bottles by the government for specified amounts, and provision of identity cards for operators and employees of bars.

They criticised the booking of drunken driving cases against customers by the Police Department in the vicinity of the bars.

Their other demands included action against the outlets for demanding Rs. 10 more than the maximum retail price on each bottle sold, and prevention of petty shops from selling packaged water in the vicinity of the bars.
