The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) has warned against use of its electric posts and wiring installations for display of adverts and for drawing of satellite cables. According to a release, electric posts and transformers have widely been used to erect advertisement banners, posters and boards. Further, cable operators have set up cable wires aligned with electricity wires in violation of Tangedco norms. Such violations may trigger serious accidents, jeopardizing life and property, it added. Advertisers and cable operators have been directed to remove their banners and cables within a week’s time, or face action.
