Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council election on April 2

‘ID cards issued by election officer must’

The Tamil Film Producers Council election will be held on April 2 at the Kandasamy Naidu College in Anna Nagar, retired judge S. Rajeshwaran, election officer, announced on Saturday.

Office-bearers for 2017-19 will be elected and voting, which will begin at 8 a.m. will go on till 4 p.m. The counting of votes will take place at 5 p.m. and the results subsequently announced. Justice Rajeshwaran also released the list of candidates who will be contesting for the posts of president, vice-president, honorary secretary, treasurer and working committee members. Gautham Vasudev Menon, K.E. Gnanavel Raja, A.L. Azhagappan, A.M. Rathnam, Prakashraj, Mysskin and S.A. Chandrasekaran are among producers from Kollywood who are contesting for various posts.

“Members of the council who are coming to vote will have to bring identification cards issued by the election officer, which will be handed out soon,” Justice Rajeshwaran told reporters.

Among those contesting for the post of president are actor and producer Vishal from Vishal Film Factory, T. Siva of Amma Creations, R. Radhakrishnan of Maruthi Films, Kalaipuli G. Sekaran of Tiraiparavai and Kothanda Ramaiah of K.R. Infotainment.
